Luton is a busy well established residential and commercial town, located some 33 miles north of London.
Luton isn't just one of the UK's largest towns, but also one of its most diverse. In all, over 140 different nationalities make up this vibrant, multicultural society, and a firm commitment to cultural integration has seen Luton become something of a model of amicable community relations.
Good housing certainly isn't in short supply in Luton. The town centre has a wealth of period architecture, with well over 50 buildings listed as grade II. Here, the dwellings are typically Victorian or early 20th century. With bags of character and charm, they are ideal for people looking to enjoy an urban lifestyle.
As you head out of the centre, the housing generally becomes progressively more contemporary, with a choice ranging from 1950s and 1960s developments, to brand new executive homes.
There are prices to suit most pockets, and they are significantly lower than for similar accommodation in London and other parts of the South East. Prices in the lively rental market are also highly competitive.
The town benefits from its proximity to Junctions 10 & 11 of the M1 motorway, the M25 motorway Junction 21 is located 12 miles from Luton. Luton has regular rail services to London and the Midlands and offers a choice of three separate railway stations being Luton Parkway Airport, Luton and Leagrave. A typical train journey from London to Luton will take approximately 30 minutes.
Luton has its own International Airport offering both European and Trans-Atlantic routes. EasyJet, RyanAir and SilverJet are some of the many Airlines whom have a base at Luton Airport. London Luton Airport is estimated to grow from 7.5 million passengers per annum (2004) to 30 million passengers per annum in 2030. The airport is currently looking at plans to construct a full-length 3000 metre replacement runway. Approximately 8000 people are employed by companies at London Luton Airport. The majority of which live within the Luton area.
If you are looking for an up and coming town with lots to offer and affordable house prices whether you want to purchase or rent, then Luton is the right move!!
